This is one of those weeks where not much really happened so there's not much to report on. As a missionary you have those weeks where you have cool things happen to you and you know exactly what you're going to write about. And then there are those weeks where you sit there for 5 minutes staring at the screen and scrutinizing your week for anything interesting.
There was a baby blessing on Sunday and a bunch of members from my old ward Encanto were there. It was fun seeing them again. They all said hi and seemed happy to see me. A recent convert from my old area was even getting married to this guy in the ward. It was funny because me and Elder Zeledon had dinner with her and she had invited him over. We basically had to sit in on one of their dates. It was awkward yet kinda fun at the same time.
Things here have kinda slowed down a bit. We've spent a lot of time trying to hunt our people that we're teaching down after loosing contact with them. One of them even went to Mexico, which is like a black hole that sucks away people for weeks before randomly spitting them out again.
We're going to the easter pageant this week. That's gonna be really fun. Most of ward is going and I think a lot of the other Spanish wards in Phoenix will be there too, which should be fun. It's always cool to see all the other Spanish missionaries and hopefully I'll get to see some of the people from Encanto too.
Recently I've been studying what it means to come to Christ. Really it seems to mean more and more that we need to entirely turn ourselves over to Him. He doesn't just ask us for part of our lives; He asks for all. I've been thinking more about that, about how it's only when we give everything that we really find what we're looking for. I'm trying to do a little better at giving more of myself to the work.
Well, this is kinda a short email but there's not a lot going on.
Love,
Alex
